Morning Musings: Romans 10:11

“For the Scripture says, ‘Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.'”  (ESV)

Have you ever believed something, invested a lot in that belief, and then it turned out not to be true?  Have you ever argued some point to the ground with another person only to discover that they were right and you were wrong?  Crow doesn’t taste good no matter how you serve it.

There is a great deal of shame involved in believing something that turns out to be false.  Thankfully, with God, that won’t ever happen.  There are times all the things He promises us seem to good to be true, but the reality is just the opposite: They are too true not to be good.  When we place our trust in the Lord, we will never experience the shame of finding out it was false all along.  We can place that trust there with confidence.  He will never leave us, forsake us, or let us down.
